Contemporary Farmhouse Renovation
Seattle-based architect Nils Finne showed the world how a contemporary farmhouse should look like. He has renovated one in Fall City, Washington and the result is quite impressive. The house is located on a hillside overlooking the Snoqualmie River valley. In order to get amazing views from within the house several continuous glass walls were added. On the main floor, the walls between the kitchen and dining room were removed, and a 25-ft. long addition to the kitchen were added. Thanks to large windows and openness of this area it become very spacious. The bathroom with its glass wall is another noticeable feature of this contemporary farmhouse. The tub there is perched in front of floor-to-ceiling glass, LED lighting is integrated into the steel frames and suitable materials used for counters and floors.
