Brench is a Seat Between Two Living Trees

Rather than using wood to make a chair, Andries Vanvinckenroye used two trees – and he didn’t even need to chop them down. The designer investigated how to use a living tree in its entirety to create seating without having to kill it or stunt its growth. The end result is “Brench”, a carbon-neutral bench made of special bio-compatible materials that allows nature and industry to sit amicably side-by-side.
