When I was growing up my dog just slept on the floor. Then as an adult, I’ve had dogs who have slept in a variety of places: pre-husband, my two golden retrievers shared part of my bed with me; then they were relegated to outside the bedroom, where one of them, much to my husband’s irritation, slept on the couch. Our last two dogs had their own beds.

Garden Reports and Rejoicing – November 2
Two nights ago we had the first hard frost of the season. Today the annuals are all blackened, but on the morning after the frost they were still in color and dusted with white ice crystals. It was lovely.

Yesterday the front page of our local paper announced that our local Lowes Store was closing on November 13. The news comes as Lowes announces that they are closing 20 underperforming stores around the country. Of those 20 stores 3 are located here in New Hampshire. The list includes the following:

When I was younger, I didn’t really think much about light bulbs and energy savings. Now that I’m getting a bit older and looking down the road at buying a house, I’m a bit more curious about it and I want to make wise decisions. What are the real advantages?
